The hospital's bright lights beckoned me as I pulled into the parking lot. I rushed inside, fueled by a potent mix of worry and hope.
A nurse greeted me with a warm smile at the reception desk. "Alpha Lorenzo? I assume you're here for—"
"Eva," I interrupted, urgency bleeding into my voice. "How is she?"
The nurse's expression softened, her tone gentle. "She's recovering well. You'll find her in room 304."
I didn't even respond or look twice at her. I simply ran off, took the stairs two at a time, my heart thundering in my chest as I closed the distance between us.
