As we finished dinner, Mother began to wrap up the evening, preparing to send us off. "It's getting late, Lorenzo. I'll have the driver drive you and Eva home."
I glanced at Eva, then back at Mother. "No need, Mother. It's already late. I'll just stay over."
Eva's eyes widened, and she leaned in, whispering, "Lorenzo, isn't this too much? We can still head out."
I ignored her concern, focusing on my mother's reaction.
Her face lit up with a warm smile. "Wonderful idea, Lorenzo! You and Eva can stay in one of the guest rooms. I'll have a servant show you to your room."
