I lifted my eyelids, my mind foggy and disoriented. Where was I? The room was unfamiliar, with dark wood paneling and heavy curtains that blocked out most of the light.

As my gaze wandered, I spotted a figure huddled in the corner, wrapped in a defensive posture, arms clutching legs. My heart skipped a beat immediately as I recognized who it was.

"Thelma?" I whispered, my voice trembling with a mixture of shock and disbelief.
