I step out from the bathroom, with a towel around my wet body.

Drops of water from my hair find their way down my neck, across my collarbone, and between my breasts. 

The bedroom is dark, with only the bedside light providing a small, warm, golden circle on the floor. 

After the long, hot shower, I want nothing but peace and to be alone.

Instead, I freeze in place.

Knox is sitting on the foot of my bed, legs  crossed, suit jacket already hung on the armchair by the far wall. His sleeves are rolled up to his elbows, forearms muscular and bronzed. 

He appears completely relaxed, as though...
