I sit at my desk, my head lowered, forcing my fingers to move across the keyboard.
The numbers from the quarterly report blur in front of me as a headache builds behind my eyes, a painful reminder of everything that’s gone wrong today. Knox’s cold words still echo in my mind, and no matter how much I push them away, they keep coming back with disappointment. But I can’t afford to dwell on it. I need to finish this report.
