I narrow my sharp gaze into slits. “What did you just say?”
Emma squared her shoulder, chin set in hard lines. “You heard me the first time.”
It feels like a challenge. Like she's daring me to do my worst.
“You'll regret your decision,” I lash out in a low voice,feeling the surge of anger rise inside me.
She flip her hair, scoffing at me. Her taunting gaze gets me angrier. With my chest heaving as I breath hard, I storm towards the door, I bump into her shoulder roughly before I leave the kitchen.
Behind me she let out a smug snicker. This is getting worse than I thought....
