"Charlotte!" My voice came out in a low growl.

Yet she didn't stop.

When she felt like she had finished letting out everything that needed to be said, she pushed her chair backwards, stomping out of the dining area.

The atmosphere became still. Nobody said a word. Even the cutlery scraping plates paused. I sprang up, not letting the moment die without any retaliation. I followed Charlotte immediately.

"Stop right there!"

She was in the hallway, heading towards her room when my words stopped her from going further. I took a few steps closer, not minding the fact that she still had her back turned against me.

"What...
