The next week went by with a slick tension in the air. I talked to Dad about Marian, and he'd agreed to get to Blood Moon as soon as possible. Within three hours, she was in the back of an SUV with a couple of his guys, thanking me tearfully, and profusely. I felt better seeing her leave the place that held memories of terror and horror for her. It was a kind of relief to know she would be safe from here on out.
