Conrad's POV:

The moon gods had blessed her, and Otis would return safely with the plant the attending doctor had spoken of.

I prayed in my heart as I watched Otis go from the hospital with the lights on into the darkness of the dark night.

I wanted to go with her, but for once I couldn't leave the pack, the plague was now so bad that I had to stay and plan for the whole pack situation.

I watched her back grow blurry until the blackness of the night swallowed her up completely, when suddenly the voice of the attending doctor rang in my ears.
