"Conrad, you really do care about this woman."

A confident smile appeared on Kraum's face, but she didn't release me from her grip.

"I already did what you said, let go of Otis."

Conrad stared at Kraum icily, but Kraum smiled instead.

"I said for you to stop the mutant coyote attack, but I didn't say anything about letting go of this woman."

"Damn it."

The pain intensified in my heart, and through the connection between my mates I could feel his anger and helplessness.
