The meeting finally came to an end and I was grateful. I remained seated with my mother and we watched the counselors leave.

Counselor Rufus gave me a death stare before he left the room. I turned to look at my mother and her face was impassive until we could no longer see his fake hair through the open door.

“Good riddance!" she exclaimed, and her face relaxed, and she smiled at me.
