Griffin stared at Emerald, his gaze lingering. She looked like her, but also… not quite.
Impatient, she snapped, "Why are you just staring at me? Hurry up."

An hour later, the two arrived at the city's trendiest nightclub. As soon as Emerald walked in, it was like a wolf among sheep, her eyes scanning the room. She perched herself on one of the high stools at the bar, flashing the bartender a mischievous grin.
"Hey, handsome, give me a Bloody Mary."
Griffin wanted to stop her. "Little fox, this place isn’t right for you. Let's go."
