“Alpha,” Kellan gasped, ignoring me entirely. “You need to come. Now.”

Lucian didn't move from his spot on the bed, though his posture stiffened. “What is it? You can talk here.”

Kellan shook his head, his face pale and urgent. “You need to come with me to understand. The Council is here, too. And they're waiting.”

“What's going on?” Lucian’s brow furrowed, the softness he had shown me just seconds ago vanishing instantly. He looked like he normally dies, when the situation is beyond normal, deadly serious.
