After making sure I looked less miserable, I walked back to meet Melanie and Kellan.

“You took so long.” Melanie grumbled as soon as I got close, “I was coming to intervene, thanks to him for throwing himself in my way like some god of thunder.” she complained with a glare shooting directly at Kellan who didn't look any bothered.

“Yeah. Lucian was just asking some questions. But I'm fine,” I lied. “Thank you by the way.”
