Back in the Shadow Pack…

After the traditional healer left, Alpha Klein finally opened his eyes and looked around. Even though he felt a dull sting throughout his body, he stretched slightly and glanced around the room, but he noticed no one.

Just then, he heard footsteps approaching the door. A moment later, it slowly opened.

Serene walked in.

She smiled and moved closer to him.

“I am glad you’re back.”

“For how long have I been here?” Alpha Klein asked weakly.

Serene paused for a moment as though calculating.

“Close to three moons.”

Then she quickly corrected herself.

“Three nights.”

Alpha Klein looked around before turning back to her....
