The guard’s voice cut through the tense silence as he rushed toward Alpha Klein.

Serene quietly exhaled, relief flickering across her face as the attention shifted away from her.

Alpha Klein’s eyes widened.

“Attacked?”

He spun sharply toward the guard.

“They killed three warriors. Two escaped, but they’re badly injured.”

The guard swallowed.

“There were no tracks after that. They simply vanished after the attack.”

He hesitated.

“But the trail leads to…”
