"Where is this place?" Dexter asked, passing a cursory glance around the old looking building.

I didn't want to tell him ahead of time because I didn't know what his reaction might be, but since we've driven all the way here, I wasn't sure he would think of returning home after discovering the reason we are here.

"You'll find out soon. Just be patient and don't ask too many questions." I slid out of the driver's seat, recalling how he made a fuss over the fact that I wanted to drive.
