Barrett glanced at the phone in Rachel's hand and chuckled, "Calling the police?"

Supposedly here to sign a contract with him, Rachel had nothing on her except for the phone, no bag, clearly not sincerely here to sign the contract.

He sat down opposite her, calmly pushing the printed contract towards her. "Miss Terry, you've gone to great lengths. But since the police haven't arrived yet, let's talk about the contract first."

Rachel found fault with Barrett everywhere, but knowing the police would arrive soon, she at least had to wait for them before seeing if she could somehow take Zoe away.
