Two pairs of eyes glanced in her direction, yet due to the darkness of the night and the glare of the headlights, Barrett and Mr. Smith couldn't quite discern Zoe inside the car.

Though the honk was rather abrupt, considering Mr. Smith's car was practically parked in the middle of the road and both of them stood in its path, they probably assumed Zoe's honk was merely indicating her intention to pass through, albeit obstructed by their presence.
