She had caused quite a commotion, and by the time Barrett finally managed to wrest the fruit knife from her grip, she was utterly exhausted. Leaning against the pantry door, trying to rise, she collapsed.

Barrett carried her upstairs to the bedroom, placing her on the bed before fetching warm water from the bathroom. Just as he set the basin down on the bedside table, Lucas knocked and entered with a medical kit slung over his shoulder.
