Olivia’s POV

“Mom, I told you already, my shift starts soon and it’s going to run late again,” I said, grabbing my bag from the kitchen counter while trying not to sound too impatient.

My mother stood there with her arms crossed, that familiar disapproving look on her face like she could smell something off even though I had showered twice and sprayed on extra perfume to cover any trace.
