I saw the governor and his wife still speaking with my parents...and with the way they were laughing, I doubted they knew they would not be inlaws anymore.

I waited for them to be done with their discussion before going to speak to Mom. I was kinda relieved Dad followed the governor and his wife out of the hall...he was probably walking them to their car apparently.

"Mom," I put my arm around her shoulder. Elise had gone inside to change her outfit since the party was over.

"Honey, where have you been? I wanted you to come say hello to Antoine's parents."

"O...ohh, I think I said hello...
