Macy's POV

All through the night, I couldn’t sleep. I waited patiently for the morning to come. I was scared and didn’t want to die like this.

I had so many dreams to fulfill. I wanted to get married and have kids of my own, live in a small house with a garden out back, and a husband who loved me without doubt.

I stared out the little window of the tiny room just above the bed. There was no moon or stars in the sky. I sighed.

Maybe even the moon and stars couldn’t bear to watch my plight. I didn’t even get to say goodbye to my grandma...
