I walked into the building, expecting a typical day at work. But as I made my way to my office, I was intercepted by Marcel. He looked at me with a mixture of confusion and amusement. I exchanged a look with him, but mine was on a colder scale.

"What are you doing here?" Marcel asked, his brow furrowed.

"I came to work, obviously," I replied, my tone harsh.

Marcel's expression turned incredulous. "Remember, today is your day off. You're supposed to be at home, not here." He chuckled, shaking his head.

But then it clicked! I suddenly remembered that today wasn't a workday. It was a public holiday....
