"Fine! I'll do it," Caspian finally said.
I blinked, stunned by his words. "Are you being sincere right now?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
He scoffed, a smirk playing on his lips. "No."
The word hit me like a slap. I pulled away from his hold, stepping back to create distance.
"Please, go back to Victor then," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "Tell him that you need his investment. I promise he's a really nice guy."
His expression darkened, the smirk vanishing. "I'm not going back on my word," he said firmly. "I've said what I have to say. I'm not accepting him....
