I only noticed it was morning when I felt the warmth of sunshine casting on my eye level, just as a whisper of cold wind blew past me.

“Kallias?” I called out.

But no Kallias answered back, not even his scent. But the scent of his cloak remained, wrapping around my body like a delicate flower.

“It’s probably noon already,” Mara told me, my wolf joyous at the remainder of our mate’s scent.

The cabin is silent too; the table uncleaned and littered with last night’s dishes. I realized I slept on the table itself, the sky above open for me to see. I bet he slept beside me too....
