Alexa's heart ached. She knew that Louise had grown attached to the brothers, and the thought of them getting hurt was unbearable for her.

"I know, Louise," Alexa said, her voice soft.

"I don't want them to get hurt either. But sometimes, we have to make hard choices to protect ourselves and those we love."

Louise looked up, her eyes filled with determination. "I want to help, Alexa. I want to do something to make them stop fighting."
