Nurses ran in and out of operation theatre, and Vikram watched from outside, through a small glass window, as the doctors surrounded her motionless figure. Only her face covered with an oxygen mask was visible. Her eyes were half-open, her warm breath hitting the mask. The heart monitor was beeping irregularly, causing his worries to reach a peak.
