Camille POV
The silence in the lot was suffocating. My ears still rang from the impact, from the crunch of Elizabeth’s car folding in on itself like it had been made of paper instead of steel. Even with the engine off, I could hear it — the echoes of glass raining onto asphalt, the scream that had died too quickly.
I sat there, motionless, mask discarded on the passenger seat, my hands pressed against the steering wheel until the leather bit into my palms.
