Barry’s POV
The alarm screamed like a banshee through the compound, rattling the walls, rattling my nerves. That sound only meant one thing—trouble had found us.
I tightened my fists as bodies flooded the hallway, boots pounding, voices shouting over one another. Smoke began to curl faintly from somewhere deeper in the building, faint but enough to make my instincts flare.
Alina was right beside me, already pulling her hair back into a knot with fast fingers, her jaw set like steel. Damn, she didn’t even flinch.
“South gate?” she shouted over the chaos.
I nodded. “Always the weak point. Whoever’s coming knows our layout.”
She cursed under her breath....
