I hurried along, my jaw clenched and fists tightening at my sides as if I could force the image of her out of my mind.
George’s voice trailed behind me, annoyingly nonchalant. "Barry. Slow down."
I ignored him. My steps only grew quicker, the crowd noise fading as I crossed the street and made a beeline for my car. My lungs felt like they were on fire with each breath, but it wasn’t from the exertion.
