Tabitha’s POV
Voices drag me out of the dark.
At first they are distant, muffled through walls, layered with what sounds like screams forced through clenched teeth. My head throbs as I open my eyes. The ceiling above me is unfamiliar, painted white and too bright. I push myself up and the room shakes, forcing me to grip the edge of the bed until the dizziness passes.
“Shit…”
The voices rise again from somewhere outside. I close my eyes and open them again, willing to get my clear vision back.
