My throat still burns even after they shove water into my hands, but at least the ache dulls once I gulp enough to satisfy the desert inside me. The next thing I know, the Aldair brothers are calling maids from the estate to come over to the hospital, and everything turns into a blur of fussing hands and soft cloths.
