Noah pinned Kai's back roughly against the wall, his hands gripping his shoulders tightly.

“What are you trying to do?! Do you want everything my dad has been doing to go to waste? Why the hell did you zone off in front of the system?”

Kai looked at him, tears brimming in his eyes without falling. He didn’t fight back against Noah's tight grip, instead just stood there, staring into his face. After a while, he finally spoke.

“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice cracking.

Noah stared at him and slowly released his grip, moving back as he ruffled his hair in frustration.
