I dropped into my seat, trying to calm the nerve between my legs down. I can’t afford to hurt Sienna again, not after everything she has gone through. I just need to hold myself together, keep calm until she is okay.

The doctor had called me the day before she was discharged. He told me about her situation, and since then, the weight of it has not left my chest.
