“Fuck!” Lina slammed her hands on the table, her face squeezing into a deep frown. Everyone in the room was obviously angry.

I sighed and slumped onto the bed near Noah. I didn’t even know what to say or how to react to whatever was going on. My chest felt heavy, my head buzzing from the tension in the air.

The different faces were obviously Lucas's son, and it was tiring. After all the stress we went through, someone had already tipped him off. After all the effort we had put into this, it felt like we were back to zero.
