“Do you really mean that?” Rick asked, lighting the cigarette in his mouth. He turned his head sharply to the side where Lian was standing there.

“I just asked a question, Lian,” Rick muttered again.

“Yes sir, we almost died… but thank God we didn't,” Lian said, his voice low.

Rick scoffed, glancing at him. “Why thank God? Wouldn’t it have been better if you all died?” he asked with a soft chuckle. Lian glared hard at him but quickly dropped his gaze before Rick could notice.

“Do you have any idea who did that?” Rick asked, standing up from his chair and walking toward Lian....
