At that moment when I saw that the lady that had been meaning to see me all along was Gina, I felt repulsive. I could not bring myself to look at her or even listen to what she was about to say. If I had known that she was the one, then I wouldn’t have granted her audience.

Her presence stirred up a lot of unpleasant memories, terrible ones that all these years I had fought hard to wish away and pretend never happened. But there she was before me and there was no denying that such appalling things truly did happen to me.
