I stood frozen with a hung open mouth trying to figure out and also assimilate what I was hearing from Conri that doesn't seem right to me.

Whenever I was with the Alpha king, he behaved coldly to me, but one thing that cannot be left unnoticed was the fact that he never stares back into my eyes whenever he was acting cold.

It must mean that he was trying so hard to not show me his weak spot for me.

Now I get it and all that Conri just said flickered inside my head. I was able to clinch it as the truth.
