Zelayna pouted as my grandmother forbids her to ride on the back of her father. “Can I ride on my mother's back instead?”

I’m in my wolf form, moon bright and white as Zelayna and me look up. “It's a full moon already!”

“Sweetie, I said no.” Mamita patted her head lightly as she gently said those words.

I shifted before my daughter and grandmother. “Zelayna,” she turned to me, her pout never leaving her face. “Grandmama is right. You are too fragile to go back-riding.”
