Those words pierced through my heart, ripping it into shreds.

I felt lost. My whole world felt blank. The doctor had truly pronounced Theresa dead, putting a white cloth over her body, to cover her from this world.

“We did everything we could, we’re deeply sorry” the doctor’s words rang in my ears, so fresh, crushing the already broken pieces of my heart.

I walked out of the room, to a bench that was laid by the wall. I sat, staring at the blank wall.
