“Hi” I heard from the other side of the phone.

“Hello Ethan,” I said.

“Hello” Ethan replied, but his voice sounded off and awfully low.

I tried to ignore it.

“Ehm i saw your texts and missed calls” i said.

“Yea, that i left two days ago” he replied.

I kept quiet and just kept staring at my fingers. I didn’t have anything to say, nor did I know what to say.

This was getting awkward.

“Ehm, just wanted to say hi i guess” i said as i stood up from the chair and walked out of the counter.

“Okay” he said.

“I have to go now,” he added....
