In that split second, Edward felt lost. "Cassandra," her name escaped his lips in hushed tones. She let go of herself and caught her in her arms before falling. They collapsed to the floor. Swelled's eyes were red and filled with pain and tears. Her sob struck him in the chest like a dagger.

His heart was racing at a thousand miles per hour. His entire world was right in front of him, on the verge of collapsing. He turned around to see the two sick bastards on the ground.
