Camille’s mind began to wander to thoughts that she had refused to think too deeply about out of guilt.

What had she ever done for Michael, anyway? She was like a virus in his life. It would only do him good to stay away from her.

But she was a selfish woman. She wanted him close to her.

She wanted him by her side, but she already had a man “in her heart”… which was actually a lie.

Camille felt her heart twist at the thought. If Michael found out eventually, he would be crushed. He might never trust her again.

And rightfully so, because she didn’t deserve any sympathy...
