SIENNA'S POV

I woke to the sound of someone moving in the kitchen downstairs.

For a second I forgot where I was. Then the heavy curtains and the too-big bed reminded me. New house. New last name floating around the edges of everything. Same man under the roof. Same hallway. Same silence that had settled after his footsteps stopped outside my door last night and moved on.
