I was glaring at David. He averted his gaze and continued to drink his liquor. Everyone was celebrating the engagement but me. 

" I want to leave now," I demanded. David sucked in a breath. 

" I know you're mad about the surprise engagement," he said. He didn't fucking know just how upset I was. I was fucking pissed. I could hit him right now. I couldn't believe David did this to me. He tricked me!

" I'll talk to my father for a few minutes, and we'll leave," he told me, trying to kiss my lips. I could smell the liquor on his breath. I pulled my head...
