Vera's POV.

I've never been to a place this quiet and beautiful. For all I know, New York is always buzzing with activities, filled with throngs of people but here on Mason Island, it's peaceful.

The small community is very welcoming. I love experiencing new cultures and that's another reason I fell in love with the place when we arrived here a week ago.

David and I blended along with the people.

Just yesterday, they held what they called a festival of lights, and the whole street was filled with lanterns.
