Alex's brow furrowed with concern. "What's wrong?"
I hesitated, my voice barely above a whisper. "I just can't help but feel like a dirty little secret."
Alex's eyes softened, his hand reaching for mine. "Don't say that, Sophie. You are so much more than that. I have never placed anyone above you. Didn't do that then, and I won't start now."
"But you're getting married," I said, my voice cracking slightly.
