I dashed out of the compound, my heart thumping against my chest with every beat. When I reached the spot where the car should have been, I suddenly had to pull to a halt. It was nowhere to be seen. Instead, Alex was sitting on the hood of his other car with his arm wrapped around his chest.

"Where are you coming from?" he asked sternly.
