“I am here for my pup,” I heard the voice of the stranger who had just shown up, announce and my head turned in his direction. What did he mean by his pup? I asked myself. I knew the other children in the house were grown and their parents are known, there’s no way he could be referring to either of them. The only child left was mine, he was the newest and could be referred to as a pup.
